The Scatter API

Introducing... The Scatter API!
The Scatter API is a new way to interact with Scatter that we've built for developers. It allows you to build your own integrations with Scatter, including totally custom minting apps.
Many artists and developers come to us with novel ideas and highly custom features or designs they want for their collection's mint. The goal of the Scatter API is to provide developers with the freedom to build whatever they want around Scatter collections, integrating seamlessly with our systems.
Do you want to use Scatter as your launchpad but launch the mint on your own website? You can do that! Do you want to build an external app that can mint from Scatter collections, like a direct integration with Farcaster for example? You can do this too. Perhaps you even want to run your own launchpad or NFT community site, while leveraging Scatter's battle-tested infrastructure and secure contracts behind the scenes, even that is possible too.
The Scatter API has been publicly available in stealth mode for a few months, and here are some of the things we've seen built with it already:
Case Studies
Yumemono's Mint
Yumemono ↗ has been one of our most successful collections this year. They were one of the first to use the Scatter API, and we worked closely with them to get their feedback and try to perfect the experience for other developers. Using the Scatter API, they built their own website for the mint with a beautiful and unique design. On launch day they sold out in only 1 hour and 3 minutes. Yumemono was mintable both from their website and directly from Scatter.

Bee-ish's Mint
Bee-ish ↗ is another collection that used the Scatter API to build their own mint page with a unique design. Like Yumemono, the collection is mintable both from their website and directly from Scatter.

Topi's Launch with Based MediaX
Based MediaX ↗ is primarily an NFT trading platform, but they've expanded to offer collection launches and minting directly on their site too. Powered by Scatter's infrastructure and the Scatter API under the hood, Topi is the first collection to launch with them, it was deployed via Scatter and is mintable directly from Scatter as well.

Farcaster Minting App
Developer AzFlin ↗ built a Farcaster mini app that allows you to mint Scatter NFTs directly within Farcaster, without ever having to leave the Farcaster app.
Start Building
Along with the API, we've also launched a complete revamp of the docs site, both visually and in content. A lot has been cleaned up, outdated information has been updated, and we've tried to simplify content where possible and make things easier to understand.
There is a new section all about building with the Scatter API, with a getting started guide, examples and a full API spec. Get started and check out the docs here!

Open Source Example
In addition to the docs, we've built an open source example minting website using the Scatter API. You can refer to this as a reference to see exactly how it is intended to be used. Since it's a fully complete working example, you are free to copy it and use it as a base to build your own minting site for your collection.

API Reference
We've also built a comprehensive API reference, which you can find here. Use this to get the full details on all the endpoints and how to use them.

Conclusion
We can't wait to see what you build with the Scatter API, people are already building things we would've never expected. If you have any questions, feedback or requests please join our Discord ↗ and chat with us! We plan to maintain the API well into the future, and will continue to iterate based on your feedback and requests.
