The Future of Onchain

Over the last year, we've witnessed exciting changes in the overall onchain market. Memes have surged with tremendous energy. L2s have grown significantly, and chains like Base are now treated essentially as another real part of Ethereum.

At Scatter, we've been laser-focused on building. We've undergone numerous internal evolutions this year as we work to create a highly scalable and customizable platform to serve the New Internet as we know it.

Introducing Scatter V2

Scatter V2 is the culmination of our efforts to create a more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly platform. Over the past year, we've helped numerous partners launch successful products, and through this process, we've gained invaluable insights. We've learned not just how to best equip our partners for success, but also the exact breadth of features and capabilities we need to pioneer, perfect, and provide at an unprecedented standard to empower anyone to build the sites and apps they want in the New Internet.

Our current focus at Scatter is to make our platform as great as possible, so that we can eventually give all of that goodness to those of you who want to build your dreams with Scatter in the future.

We're adding a wide array of new core features to Scatter. We're pioneering fresh new collection types and innovative launch formats. We're doing big things in beautiful ways. We're preparing huge community events that will reshape what onchain art even means. We're getting ready for what we know the next big trends will be, making it easier than ever for you and your team to painlessly and safely launch your projects onchain.

Sunsetting Scatter V1

As of today, the Scatter V1 site is being sunsetted and will no longer accept new collection creations or collection edits. The old Scatter V1 site will remain up for the time being at the v1.scatter.art domain. For the most part, all old collections should work on Scatter V2, but in the unlikely case that some collections' contract type is not supported on V2, we're keeping a version of V1 up that will still allow minting.

Scatter V1 has served us all well. We should all be thankful that it was able to exist and help so many artists launch amazing collections, many of which have had huge impacts on crypto culture and ultimately made a permanent mark on the genesis of the future web.

Changes to Collection Links

We're updating our URL structure to better accommodate future growth. Collection links will now use the format scatter.art/collection/collection-name. All old collection links will automatically forward to the new format.

Multichain Support

Base, Blast, Bera, Sanko, and recently Arbitrum have all been added to Scatter. Creating collections for these other chains is now easier than ever! We will continue to add more EVM compatible chain support as demand grows. If there's a specific chain you'd like to use Scatter on, just let us know about your project plans.

New Wallet Support

Scatter V2 supports a wider range of wallets. If your preferred wallet isn't on the list, the "Injected" option should work in most cases. We're committed to continually improving wallet compatibility, so please let us know if you encounter any issues.

New Look and Customization Options

Scatter V2 features a fresh new look, built on a brand new, highly flexible theming system. We even have light mode now! Behind the scenes, we've built a powerful theme system to make it easy for us to support a wide range of styles and aesthetics within Scatter products. Stay tuned, we have some fun plans in store here. 😼

Enhanced Checkout System

We've implemented a new cart system that allows users to add mint amounts from multiple lists and complete the transaction in a single step. In the future, this will expand to allow minting from multiple collections simultaneously. These new checkout features will only work for somewhat recent collections, as older collections may not have the necessary contract features to support this.

Improved Payout System

Scatter now features a two-step withdrawal process for creators, making it easier to manage platform fees and payouts. This streamlined system allows for more efficient fund management for both creators and platform operators.

For affiliates, you’ll still withdraw your affiliate earnings directly from a collection’s contract on the affiliates tab. Later, we’ll streamline this more too, and enable affiliates to be able to see all of their affiliate balances and withdraw them all from one place. There are quite a few collections where people hold significant unwithdrawn affiliate balances still!
