(A loving but ultra-short checklist)
Your "why" (AKA: Please don't say "Because NFTs"):
Be clear on what your collection does: Community access, storytelling, utility, art for art's sake, or all of the above?
People don't connect to tokens, they connect to intention. If you can't explain the purpose in a few grounded sentences, neither can your audience, and that's where interest and trust quietly evaporates.
The art is the hook, the strategy is the spine:
Stunning visuals matter. So does cohesion, narrative, and knowing why Collection #12 belongs in the world. Random ≠ rare. Thoughtful always wins. A clear creative twist turns individual pieces into a body of work, and a body of work into something people want to stand behind, not just scroll past.
Utility: Real or imagined?
If there's utility, define it clearly. If there isn't, that's fine too, just don't promise teleportation when you mean a Discord role and good vibes. Over-inflated claims age badly, while honest framing builds longevity. People can forgive simplicity, but they won't forgive feeling sold a fantasy that never intended to land.
Your audience already exists (or needs to):
NFTs are not a "build it and they will come" situation. Momentum before mint matters. Community beats algorithms. Always. If you're talking at people instead of with them, you're already behind. Real engagement is built in conversations, consistency, and trust long before a contract ever goes live.
Roadmaps should be believable, not heroic:
If your roadmap reads like a five-year corporate strategy written at 2am, we should talk. Sustainable trumps spectacular. A roadmap is a relationship contract, not a hype document. Rather under-promise, over-deliver, and leave room for reality to breathe.
Pricing: aspirational, not delusional:
While we could try to help you find the sweet spot between "accessible" and "respected," research is everything. The market has a long memory and a short fuse. Price signals intent and confidence, miss the mark and you either scare people off or devalue your own work before it's had a chance to speak.
Marketing is not a single tweet and a prayer:
Launches are campaigns, not moments. Think timelines, touchpoints, and consistency (and no, spamming Discords doesn't count). Visibility is built through repetition with intention ie. showing up where your people already are, and showing up long enough for recognition to turn into trust.
Are you ready to stick around after mint?
Post-launch is where reputations are made or quietly buried. Community care is not optional. Silence after the sale speaks louder than any roadmap promise, showing up consistently, even when it's unglamorous, is what separates projects from cash-outs and creators from caretakers.
Your tolerance for chaos:
Tech hiccups happen. Wallets misbehave. People ask the same question 47 times. Calm leadership is part of the deliverable. If you spiral publicly, the community will mirror it: Steadiness under pressure builds confidence faster than any announcement ever could.
