Platform Fee

Minimum Platform Fee

This is valid for contracts deployed after September 1st 2026.

Scatter charges a ~$1 minimum fee per token mint to minters when minting from public mint lists. Essentially, this makes it so that public mint lists have a minimum price of $1 to mint. For creators, this will not impact your share of minting proceeds. The Platform Fee only adds a fee to maintain a minimum per public mint. For minters, it means that an extra charge per mint will be added when minting collections on Scatter so that the total Platform Fee is a minimum of $1 per token.

Why A Minimum Fee?

Scatter is an open platform. Scatter has costs of running its services in this way which grow over time. As many collections mint for free, or a low price, they still have a cost for us to maintain. We understand and accept that having a minimum fee on public lists may discourage some people from releasing fully free mint or very low fee projects on Scatter. Many Ethereum-based platforms have closed their doors over the years, and we hope to continue to be able to maintain our platform for the good of all long term.

Charms Stay Fully Free

No Platform Fee is added to private free mint lists (Charms). You'll only be charged whatever the chain charges in gas for the transaction.

Why Not Exactly $1 Per Mint?

The minimum fee is based on the current price of a chain's native token in USD to determine the current price for $1 of the current chain's native token. This value is updated every 15 minutes. It can be higher or lower than exactly $1 worth of the native token as the price of the native token is constantly changing. A 10% difference is accepted, and in some cases if you overpay vs. the current required fee, you will be refunded the excess.
