Platform FAQ
Use this page for wallet, account, and connection questions shared across Scatter. For deployment, uploading, mint lists, and collection setup, use the Minting FAQ.
For trading, orders, payment balances, and purchased NFTs, use Marketplace FAQ.
Which wallets does Scatter support?
Supported wallet options include MetaMask, Rainbow, Rabby, Coinbase, and WalletConnect connections on desktop and mobile.
If multiple wallet apps or browser extensions interfere with connecting, set the wallet you want to use as your default in its settings. On mobile, you may need to use the wallet's built-in browser rather than your normal phone browser. See Minting on Mobile for the minting walkthrough.
For multisig wallets, see Security: Use a Vault.
How do I fix connection or sign-in errors?
Connection or authorisation problems can affect minting, editing lists, or editing your Scatter profile. First check that you are on the official Scatter site, connected with the intended wallet address, and signed in.
Try switching to another address in your wallet and then switching back. Read and complete Scatter's authentication-message prompts to re-establish the session. See Security for precautions when signing.
Reconnect a MetaMask Session
If you only have one address, or switching addresses did not help, try reconnecting your MetaMask session:
- Close your other Scatter tabs, leaving one open.
- Select Log Out in Scatter's top-right account menu to disconnect the active wallet and end your Scatter session.
- In MetaMask's Connected sites, find Scatter and disconnect it.
- Disable the MetaMask extension, refresh Scatter, then enable and unlock MetaMask again.
- Reconnect to Scatter and complete its sign-in prompts.
- Refresh the page and try the action again.
If the problem persists, try clearing Scatter's cookies and cache, or use another browser or wallet. If a collection's Shills tab still does not appear, check that you are using the intended account and consult Minting Shills.
If you still need help, contact Scatter with the error and what you were trying to do.
Where do I find my user profile link?
See User Profiles for custom-username and wallet-address links. A user profile is separate from your collection's profile and branding.
How do I edit my account or link another wallet?
Use Manage Account for your username, bio, avatar, banner, shill code, payout wallet, linked wallets, X connection, and content preferences.
How do I hide NFTs from my public profile?
You can hide a collection's NFTs from your public Scatter profile, for example to keep spam or items you do not want to display out of view:
- Open the account menu in the top-right site navigation and select My NFTs.
- Hover over the eye icon for the collection you want to hide.
- Click the icon for Hide This Collection.
This hides that collection from your public profile. It controls visibility on Scatter; the NFTs' ownership and blockchain history remain public.
What is the difference between Disconnect Wallet and Log Out?
Disconnect Wallet lets you disconnect the active wallet and connect another while staying signed in to your Scatter account. Log Out disconnects the active wallet and signs you out of Scatter completely.
Any linked wallet can sign in to the same account, but wallet-specific actions require the relevant wallet. See Switching Wallets and Logging Out for the account menu and Linked Wallets for account access and wallet permissions.
Who can unlink a wallet from my account?
Only your account's primary wallet can unlink other wallets. If a secondary wallet is compromised, use the primary wallet to unlink it. A compromised primary wallet can put the whole account under someone else's control, so protect it carefully. See Primary Wallet and Unlinking and Account Security.
Where do I claim shill rewards?
Marketplace shill rewards need no claim or withdrawal: your 2.5% share is sent directly to your payout wallet as part of the purchase transaction.
For minting shill rewards, use the site's Payouts page ↗. See Claiming Payouts for Claim All and the empty state when no payouts are available.
How do I check my notifications?
Select the bell icon in Scatter's left-hand navigation to open Notifications. The Alerts tab includes:
| Alert | What it means |
|---|---|
| Bid Filled | Your bid has been filled for the NFT shown. |
| Listing Sold | An NFT you listed has sold. |
| Announcement | A message from a collection you hold. |
| Shill Income | You have earned income from shilling. |
| Claimable Proceeds | Payments from collections you created are available to claim. |
For Bid Filled and Listing Sold, the alert shows the collection, NFT name and token ID, date, network, payment currency, amount, and transaction reference. A quantity such as x2 identifies multiple copies involved in that event. Read the currency and network together: for example, a WETH payment on Ethereum is different from an ETH payment on Base.
Use View NFT on a trade alert to open the item. For the transaction's full details, check its reference on the relevant network's blockchain explorer. To review remaining bid quantities or manage other orders, use Profile → Orders.
For earnings available to withdraw, open Payouts ↗. Creators can publish holder messages through Collection Announcements.
Scatter does not send expiration notifications. Track expiration dates yourself, including those of listings and bids. Use Profile → Orders to review their Expires values and set your own reminders if needed.
Where are the fee and shill rules?
Fees is the shared reference for minting and the marketplace. Shills explains how the minting and marketplace programs differ.
For collection eligibility and required marketplace sharing, see Royalties. For how long a clicked link stays active, see Shill Link Duration.
